🚔 Blandford Neighbourhood Policing Team Weekly Update 🚔

This week, officers have been supporting the community through proactive patrols, safeguarding work, partnership engagement, and ongoing investigations.

Monday 7 September

✅ Supported Response Policing colleagues in managing day-to-day demand across the area, assisting with incidents and maintaining a visible policing presence within the community.

Tuesday 8 September

✅ Continued to provide support and safeguarding to a high-risk domestic abuse victim, ensuring appropriate measures and partner agency support remained in place.

✅ Conducted welfare checks at two addresses where concerns of potential exploitation had been identified, helping to assess risk and safeguard those involved.

✅ Met with Sovereign Network Group to discuss ongoing housing-related concerns and explore solutions to issues affecting local residents.

✅ Whilst on foot patrol in Blandford town centre, officers came across a verbal domestic-related incident taking place in the street. Officers swiftly intervened, de-escalated the situation, separated those involved and provided safeguarding advice to ensure the welfare of all parties.

Throughout the Week

✅ Developed and reviewed intelligence to support ongoing investigations and neighbourhood policing priorities.

✅ Conducted CCTV reviews and evidential enquiries to assist in identifying offenders and progressing investigations.

✅ Completed administrative enquiries and case updates to ensure incidents and investigations continued to move forward effectively.

✅ Undertook force-directed coursework and professional development to enhance skills, knowledge and effectiveness within the Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Many aspects of neighbourhood policing take place behind the scenes, but this work remains essential in safeguarding vulnerable people, preventing crime, supporting victims, and helping to make Blandford a safer place for everyone.
